Maggie and Jason booked me for their wedding photography quite a while ago. The also ended up booking my good friend Alex Ordanis for their wedding cinematography, which meant that Alex and I got to collaborate on a few ideas that we had for their engagement photos. This will kind of be a two-part blog post, as there’s a second part coming later which will involve a cool video edit that we still have more to work on.
We were looking for a cool location with lots of colour for the engagement photos. Toronto engagement photography seems to have covered every square inch of the city, so we didn’t think we would find anywhere that hasn’t been used for engagement photos before. We decided on Kensington Market, as it has that busy colourful dynamic setting. It almost feels like a little portal into another country, right in the middle of Toronto. There certainly wasn’t a lack of interesting backdrops anywhere. I would actually love to shot someones wedding photography here one day…
Maggie and Jason have great personalities. We just wanted to keep shooting, and ended up all going out for dinner right after the engagement shoot (Thanks again guys!). This was inspite of the fact that they had already shared one of the tastiest grilled cheese sandwiches in the world with us! Seriously, if you haven’t gone down to The Grilled Cheese in Kensington Market before, try it.
There seems to never be a dull moment in the conversation with the four of us, and I’m very excited to work on the second part of the engagement shoot, as well as the wedding photography. I don’t mean to brag here, but I just know how to pick the best clients. I’m sure Alex is in total agreement, as they found the key to his heart… It’s through his stomach;)
