Every Wedding Photographer needs a blog! Here is a collection of just some of the weddings that I've photographed, engagement photography, and stories about the couples that I've had the pleasure of working with, both in Toronto and outside of the GTA. Although not every wedding will be featured here, but I do try to keep it updated with work every now and then. If you're visiting for the first time, please feel free to leave a comment or share my work with friends! Laura & Adam – Toronto’s Finest Ginger Engagement Shoot!

As a Toronto wedding photographer, I try to come up with some sort of unique yet appropriate theme for most of the engagement shoots that I do, if possible.  After doing this for a few years, believe me, it becomes a little bit more difficult as I continue to attempt to come up with fresh ideas that haven’t been done before . For this reason I tend to really look at my couples and try to uncover who they really are in order to come up with something that is going to be unique to their shoot. I believe that anybody who spends any more than 10 minutes with Laura and Adam will know that they are clearly (and self confessed) ideal specimens of the ginger community. I don’t think there was ever any question that we wanted to include at least some form of ginger component in the engagement shoot. For me the question was how could we visually do this?
It was about a week or two before the engagement shoot that the idea of going on a “ginger scavenger hunt” came to me. Basically, we were going to search for anything pertaining to, or with the word ginger in or on it . This was actually a little more difficult than it may seem, unless you’re in a Chinese supermarket called T&T! Once inside the supermarket, it was pretty easy to find random articles of ginger content… But for the finale, we wanted the real thing… Actual ginger root!
What was funny is that we ended up standing in line at the supermarket, waiting to pay for the ginger root, when I started joking about getting a pen and drawing little faces on the ginger root, and even making a little ginger dress out of a Kleenex . It was beyond funny when we ended up with a tiny little ginger root bride and groom, complete with wedding dress and everything!
Laura and Adam, I can’t begin to tell you how much fun I had on our engagement shoot. This was one of those days where everything seem to come together in a hilarious fashion, and we even managed to get some great engagement photos as well 🙂
I can’t wait for the wedding day, and hope we have as much fun as we did on our ginger shoot!
